About the Centre

Welcome to Newstead Community Centre. The Centre is dedicated to fostering community engagement and providing a welcoming space for all. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents by offering diverse programs, workshops, and events that cater to all ages and interests. Established as a cornerstone of the community, we pride ourselves on being a place where connections are made and ideas flourish.

With a rich history of serving the community, Newstead Community Centre continues to evolve, adapting to the needs of our patrons. Our facilities include modern meeting rooms, a spacious hall, and outdoor areas perfect for gatherings. Our Facilities and Programs

At Newstead Community Centre, we offer a variety of spaces and services to accommodate your needs, whether you’re planning a small meeting or a large event.

Mechanics Hall

Seats 100 and has a serving hatch to the Kitchen

Main Hall

Seats 200 – 300, with a stage for other events

Access to the Kitchen which is a semi-commercial kitchen

Meeting Room

Seats up to 20 and has a Kitchenette attached

Kitchen

Semi Commercial Kitchen and can be utilised with either the Main hall or the Mechanics Hall

Upcoming Events

Newstead Mural - Community Workshops

Contribute ideas for an upcoming mural commission on the toilet block on Panmure Street in Newstead. These free sessions include activities to brainstorm possible themes and stories for the mural design, plus background information on the project.

Suitable for residents, families, businesses and local property owners.

Join us for a delightful afternoon at our Community Lunch, where the aroma of home-cooked meals fills the air and laughter resonates among friends and neighbours; this is the perfect opportunity to forge new connections, exchange culinary secrets, and create lasting memories over a shared table, making it a cherished experience for everyone involved.
